New River is rural in a way nowhere else in the Phoenix metro quite is. Unpaved roads, open desert between houses, and Daisy Mountain and the Ben Avery Shooting Facility as the local landmarks instead of a mall. That dust is fine and it gets everywhere: window tracks, blinds, ceiling fan blades, the tops of cabinets, the return grille on the air conditioner. Monsoon season makes it worse, with outflow storms that push dust through door seals no matter how good they are. There are two kinds of houses out here and we clean both. Many New River homes are on well water rather than city water, and well water in this part of Arizona tends to leave heavy mineral scale on shower glass, faucets, tile and inside the dishwasher. Wiping does not move it. We descale with the right product for the surface, so the shower door goes back to clear and the faucets stop looking chalky. On a recurring schedule we keep after it every visit, because scale builds faster than you would think when the water comes straight from the ground.

New River is a residential community with very little commercial base, and what there is runs along the I-17 frontage: small shops, small offices, churches. For anything larger, the commercial corridors of north Phoenix are the next stop down the freeway.
